Programs

Depaul USA is working to end college homelessness through the Dax Program. The Dax Program assists homeless and housing insecure students of DePaul University and City Colleges of Chicago.

Program Overview

The Dax Program began by matching homeless and housing insecure students with host families. Today, Depaul USA also operates two Dax Houses to address students’ immediate crises of homelessness by providing stable and safe housing. The Dax Program provides students with various services that support a successful path toward the continuation and completion of their studies. These include:

  • Housing
  • Case management
  • Counseling referrals
  • Transportation
  • Food stipends
  • Textbook assistance
  • Educational reimbursements

“I wanted to thank Depaul USA for everything you have done for me and the role you have played in my growth and becoming. Thank you for believing in me and giving me a chance. The Dax family will always be my favorite miracle story. The risks you make taking in college students will never go unnoticed and unappreciated. You are changing lives through love and faith in us and I am forever grateful that I was fortunate enough to be one of the lucky ones to be touched and changed by the Dax Program.”
